Gear Education recently sponsored and delivered an AI in education training to public school teachers, showcasing how artificial intelligence can enhance classroom teaching and learning. The session included a hands-on demonstration of Gemini for Education, giving participants a closer look at Google’s latest AI tools built for education and their impact on creativity, lesson planning, and personalized learning.
Offered as a prize to the winners of Net Zero for Youth’s (NZ4Y) 2025 Celebration Event, this training enabled attendees to experiment with Gemini for Education in real time and discover practical ways to bring AI into everyday teaching and learning.
During the session, Christina Shailas, Google Certified Educator and Founder of Gear Education, guided the group of biology teachers through interactive demos using the Gemini app and NotebookLM. Educators were given demo accounts to explore these tools for 30 days, helping them see first-hand how accessible and effective AI can be in supporting their work.
Many participants were excited to learn that these AI offerings were already included in Google for Education Fundamentals, available at no cost to qualifying educational institutions. The Ministry of Education can work with Gear Education to help schools across Cyprus get set up and give all educators and students access to these powerful tools. This is part of Google’s complete AI framework, ensuring a powerful, safe, and classroom-tailored experience for all students and teachers.
